This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Katy is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Katy is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

An established local favorite for a few years now, Isnak Cafe in Katy, Texas continues to impress with its fantastic Filipino comfort foods and expanding menu. Their signature UBErload Halo-Halo is an absolute star—loaded, refreshing, and the ultimate heat-reliever during hot Texas summers! Beyond the sweets, their savory dishes highlight great cooking, while front-of-house staff like Adrian and Ampy consistently deliver warm, attentive service. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Filipino snacks or needing a cool summer treat. A true must-try spot!

I LOVE that a Filipino spot finally owned back up since the 2020 pandemic ended here in Houston. Our maybe since then, I haven't really been motivated to look for one (they all closed after the pandemic in 2020-21). A little taste of home! Ordered 10pk of lumpia. Easy to find in Katy. The place is clean, and the employees are really cool. If you wanna try some good Asian/Islander food, come by. I recommend!

Maraming salamat, iSnak Café! 🇵🇭 Everything I tried was delicious and felt like a little taste of the Philippines. I had the pancit bihon, lumpia, and BBQ chicken skewers with rice. All were very good. DON'T miss out on the halo-halo! I've had various ones in San Antonio, Austin, and Houston and this was my favorite since the Philippines. It also was alot more reasonably priced than the other places. I loved that they carry my favorites Filipino snacks including Pillows, Fudge Bars, and Choc-Nut. One of things I like about going to Filipino restaurants and stores is feeling the hospitality as well as the Filipino Pride. I will definitely be back.

We learned of iSnak Cafe from Instagram and wanted to stop by once we were in the area again. The popularity we saw to their Instagram posts are not "over hype" or unwanted. The atmosphere is cozy, but clean and inviting like a typical Filipino café. The service was great. Friendly, inviting, and very service oriented. As for the food offerings, we tried the Halo Halo and chicken lumpia. The chicken lumpia was great, but the Halo Halo...that was amazing. It was the absolute, hands down, the best Halo Halo we have had outside the Philippines. No joke or hyperbole. If you are looking for a great traditional style Filipino cafe in the metro Houston area with Halo Halo that is outstanding than give these folks a try.
